I had the hardest time coming up with a subject for this paper. There are so many things you can choose but so many of them are so original. I didn't want any original subject; I wanted something that would be interesting to me and to my readers. I was just stumped on what I should do and I got to talking to one of my good friends and she told me to do it on teen pregnancy since she recently had a baby of her own, at the age of 18.I really didn't want to do it but the more I heard her stories about it and the more I researched it, it became a lot more interesting. Especially when you come from such a small town it doesn’t happen very often compared to a bigger city and a bigger high school.
Childbirth all together is such an amazing thing; it’s a miracle that such a thing can happen to us. Even if a teen does get pregnant it is still a miracle, bringing that little baby into this world. Even a decade or so ago there was teen pregnancy, it was happened for ages and it most likely won't end. There was a Time magazine featuring young pregnant teens and it was issued in 1985. The worst part about it these days is that it's young kids, who don't want a baby, most of the time they were brought up right, or they just don't care and they will drink and smoke while being pregnant. Many of these young girls think that they can just run around with a bunch of guys and it won't happen to them, but it will. They have just as much of chance as another girl. If they are willing to run around with these boys they need to take the responsibility to have these babies, and take care of them the right way, or put them up for adoption, don't raise them learning bad habits from the get go. I have a class in the developmental building at Tc and it is absolutely ridiculous how many young pregnant girls there are in that building, and you watch them walk outside and light up a cigarette, they don't think about that poor little baby inside of them. The way they disrespect the teachers in that building is just crazy to me, I was brought up to respect anybody even if they do treat you like crap. (Time Magazine)
Money doesn't grow on trees as everybody knows that, and living expenses isn't cheap either, and think a baby on top of those other living expenses. According to Teen Pregnancy Statistics, "Teen pregnancy costs the United States at least $7 billion annually". The biggest reason for this is because the girls are still in high school and don't have a job or just plain don't want to work. Almost 95% of these teen pregnancies are unplanned. So that leaves about 5% of them that have been planned and have worked somewhat to save up money for the baby. I friends baby was unplanned leaving her without time to save up for money, she didn't find out till four months along so that really only leaves five months. Many of these teens with the unplanned pregnancy will have to rely on state money, and food stamps which isn't very fair to people I don't think, but there is not much you can do about it. We all want the baby to survive and have the best life they can have, therefore we will have to suffer and help support babies that we don't even know. (pregnantteenhelp.org)
I interviewed my friend, Rachel, and asked her a to give me and all the other teens out there some wisdom of advice for trying to avoid teen pregnancy. As Rachel stated in my interview "First words of wisdom I can give all of you guys is use protection, even they it is not 100% affective, it is better than nothing" Any teen can get pregnant if they are willing to have intercourse, Rachel was a very good student in school, made honor roll every semester. She then went on and attended college until she was no longer to with giving birth. She was a perfect high school student, nobody would have ever thought her out of all the students to be the one wound up pregnant, but it can happen. After having the baby Rachel grew up even more than one though she could have, she was more mature than any of us already, and boy did she grow up more. The affect of having such a miracle, with most girls I hope will make them mature much more and teach other girls and inform them about the causes and there affect of teen pregnancy. (Rachel J.)
There are many affects that teen pregnancy can have not just on the teen, but the family members, and the people who don't even know the child. We all strive to make sure that child has the best life that it can. It should not be looked down upon; it is such a beautiful miracle.

Paper :)

I am coming along on my paper. I have not put it all together yet. I am actually writng this paper different than how I have written any other paper. When I usually write papers I put it together as a I go. I will find one piece of informations and link where I found it and then just keep going from ther with what makes since to go along with it. This time I am finding just a bunch of ideas and geting the links where I got them from and I am just jotting them down without putting them into a paper format. In the end when I get all the information I need I will start to put it in a paper format. I am testing this way out and see if it is easier for me to write it this way or not.
That is about all of the information I can give you for now, and I hope that you will read my paper even though school will be done. :)

Earth Day :)

Earth Day was established 40 years ago by the United States of America. I think that is was a great idea for America to start Earth day. The last decade or so it seems like a lot of Americans have given up on the idea of Earth day, but this year many Americans are liking the idea of getting back to going green and is supporting Earth day. I think that Americans are starting to see the effect of not going green on the environment, as Robert Stone, a independent documentary filmmaker says sthat “Every Earth Day is a reflection of where we are as a culture,” in the New York Times
I am very happy that America is finally realizing how important our environment is. There are a lot of things that we

School.School.School
All I have been thinking about these days is getting done with this semester of school. These past few weeks have been crazy for me, I have had so much homework and so many tests. I love being busy but being busy with so much homework and school gets a little aggrivating. I have been looking forward for this semester to be done for quite some weeks now and it is actually going by pretty fast considering how busy I have been. I still have got a lot of studying to do for a lot of my classes, yet I just put it off and it never gets done!

Ken-Robinson Video
I really enjoyed watching the Ken-Robinson Video. It felt like I was watching the video for my own self instead of having to watch it for class. It was very intersting the way he worded his whole speech. The way he told us about how children have creativity and how in many ways they could express there creativity. I agree with this video in many ways. I believe that children have quite a creative mind, almost more creative than many adults. They should be able to express there creativity while they have it, many children lose it or just don't know how to find it with they start growing up. I am not very creative at all, and I wish I were. I see a few of my friends that are and I absolutely love it. When your a child everyone is creative, it's just the luck of the draw who is stays with and who it doesn't. If we could practice more creativity in schools besides just in art class but with writing and other things I think it would stick with us a lot more for when we got older.
With this video here, the creator must have been creative by being able to write such a good speech. The way they wrote it made it interesting for the audience, it didn't bore us by any means. It kept me waiting for what else they were going to say, keep me chuckling the whole video. I really enjoy when Sheila gives us videos to watch because she has quite the sense of humor. She knows what most of us would like to watch and she woudn't give us something to watch that she could barely stay focused on either.

Go Green
I am a type of person who will sometimes believe in karma, I know its kind of hypocritical but in someways I do and someways I don't. I do hope if you do something real wrong in life that it will come back and bite you in the butt..its just not fair if it doesn't. I've actually got a funny example I can share with you guys. My friend Kayla was driving to work the other day and she rolled down her window to throw out a gum wrapper, in other words LITTERING, after she through the gum wrapper out her window would not roll back up. Come to find out her window broke and she ended up having to take it in and spending about 200 bucks to get it fixed all because she had to through a gum wrapper out the window which could have stayed in the car until she got out and found a garbage. In my example I believe it could be two reasons for the window breaking, either karma, or her window just happened to break at that time.
I am represting going Green and the nonnecessary littering and usage of material. I understand the hardships were having with money these days and how hard it is to try to be good to the earth if it is just easier to buy the cheaper and easier stuff to get ahold of but in the end its going to ruin it for everybody.
I believe that everybody should start to go green it will help out the earth in the end. I know its hard to change products that you have used forever but its the least you could do for the earth. I am also a big believer in carpooling, why drive separtely if your friend are driving up for the day also. It saves you money and it is a lot safer for the earth. The earth will not be around forever and we all know that so why not do your part and help it stay around as long as possible. The way we are doing things now will not help the earth at all.
All I am asking is to try to do your part and start to go green, and try not to litter. Try to get a group together and do a road side clean up. Little things like that help out more than you know.

Growing Up
How I have become who I am today is because of my family and friends. My family is everything to me, everyone says it but I can see why. I grew up with a big family, and I love it, I don't know how people can do it by themselves or only with a one or two other siblings. I guess they do it because they don't know what it's like to have more than just one or two siblings. I absolutely love having a big family, if I need advice on certain things I can ask anyone of them I want and they will all give me different advide, I like that a lot.
I remember we would all sit on the kitchen table (which was huge)and watch for the bus and when we saw the bus we would all yell it so we all heard, and hoping nobody would miss the bus. As for the ride home on the bus we would all seperate, one would have wrestling practice, the other would have basketball, and some would end up coming home on the bus. The bus route for the way home was long we would be the last ones off which meant we wouldn't get home until about 4:35 which made me mad because Arthur started at 4:00 and I hated missing it. So instead of riding the whole bus route our parents gave us a choice to get dropped of at the top of our road and walk home, it was about a 3/4 of a mile walk and of course we chose the walk instead of the bus route. So we would get dropped of at the top of the road and walk home, some days we would be to lazy to walk all the way home so we would take turns having one person run home and get the four wheeler and drive it to the top of the road, pick us up and give us a ride home so we wouldn't have to walk all the way home. I also remember when it was winter and we walked home my brothers were so mean to me they use to through me down the hill into the snow bank or rub my face in the snow. I would get so mad at them that I would lay in the middle of the road and just stay there and they would walk the rest of the way home.
My favorite holiday is christmas so I remember a lot about christmas. About two weeks before christmas we would harness the horses up and go out and cut down our one christmas tree, bring it back and decorate it. Of course I thought everybody did it that way, turns out you can go out and buy christmas trees, I think thats just so funny. We would always ice skate on christmas eve at one of our ponds at our house, we would have a fire and we would play hockey on the ice. We always opened one present on christmas eve, I also thought everybody did that too, turns out they don't. I would always count the presents to see who get the most. We use to all sleep upstairs on christmas eve night and when christmas day came we would usually all be up by 4 o'clock in the morning and we would yell down asking if its time for us to come down yet. Our parents told us when they were ready for us to come down, at about 5 o'clock they would be ready for us, so they would yell up for us to come down. You should have felt the steps as everyone ran down them, there wooden steps to, so I am quite suprised they withheld all of the pressure. As soon as we got downstairs we would all run to the bathroom and fight over who got to go first, we only had one bathroom between all of us. My parents always had candy on the table and Dean Martin in the CD player, with no doubt it was the same exact way every christmas.
Through out this whole blog I never told you how many siblings I have, I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters and we are all fully related. I would give up anything for them guys, I love them so much. I have so many memories with them it's crazy. I think I can safely say I think I had the best childhood in the world. Growing up on a farm and with so many brothers and sisters, there was not one bored moment.

Young at Heart.
I was so inspired when I watched the movie Young at Heart. I walked out of the class smiling that day, I was very happy that Sheila showed us that movie, and I think that everybody should have a chance to watch that movie. Those are the sort of things in life that keep me striving for more, seeing things like that makes me want to go out and do things and not just lay on the couch. Seeing all them elderly people out and about having a good time. Not sitting home being cranky and sad, there out and having a good time, enjoying what they have left. You would think they would be tired and exhausted and I am sure they are but yet they still keep on singing and traveling around.
I currently work at a nursing home right now and I love it. I love it because of the elderly people and not because of the people I work with. I look forward going to work and I have a smile on the whole time I am there. Whenever my shift is up and I walk out of that building I have learned something new, there is not one time that I have not learned something of them old ladies. They make my day no matter how bad of a mood I was in before I came to work. Just seeing them still smiling and trying to make the most out of life, even though they are stuck in a nursing home. Yes there are a few that are just plain cranky and don't want anything to do with you, and they can't wait to get out. With people like that I just walk up to them just simply smile and on the outside they show that there mad and just want you to leave them alone, but inside I know that they are truly happy to see us young people walking around smiling and enjoying our lives.
Elderly people are the same as us young people, they just look a little older, and know a heck of a lot more than us. Before I worked at the nursing home I use to be weird around old people, I just didn't know what to say or do around them, I didn't know how to act. If I would have never started working at the nursing home I probably would be the same way, working at the nursing home changed a lot for me. It made me realize that elderly people are just the same as us, just people trying to live there lives.

Time is a Precious Thing
I did not need to watch this video again I heard something the first time I watched it that really stuck in my head. It went something like, we offer kids time something that seems to be in short supply of these days, I think the reason this stuck in my head so much was because this is what you hear a lot from your friends, family, yourself, everybody. Everybody saying they don't have enough time to clean there house, or to go watch there kids games, or to take time for themselves. Well everybody has time, and everybody has the same amount of time in each day, not one person gets more time in one day than another, everybody gets 1440 minutes in one day. Its how you spend your time in those minutes, that result into the days in each year, and each year into decades.
So why does time feel like it is in such short supply of these days. Maybe its because you are a very busy business man/woman or a very busy college student, whatever it may be you insist that your to busy to go have dinner with your parents or go have a day with your son/daughter. This is when I believe were in short supply of time, when your to busy thinking about how busy you are to realize that you've got time, time that your wasting right now thinking about it. You can always make time for something, always. Time is in short supply when you've lost your chance to do something, or when you've lost your chance because your time has come, or when you've been given a short time to live, that is when your in short supply of time.
I understand how it is to be busy, but yet I always make time to go out and enjoy myself and do things that need to be done. If I have a pile of homework and it is due tomorrow but my friends call me up and want to go out and do something, I will go out with my friends, just because I know I can do my homework when I get home, even if it means staying up all night and getting up extra early to get it done, and least I can say I went out and enjoyed myself instead of feeling bad for myself because I am to busy to have a life.
I hope after reading this you will start to make time for your friends, family, and yourself. Start to enjoy the little things in life, and not be down because your so busy, be happy that you are busy. =))

About Me =))

Hi I am Anna Boardman and I from Retreat, Wisconsin. I enjoy being outside, and being with family and friends. I love to working with horses and riding horses, I would much rather live out in the country than a city or town. I drive 40 miles to school just because I do not want to live in La Crosse, I know it would be way easier to live in La Crosse but I have no interest to at all. I love to go out and have a good time with my friends :)) I would rather be out in the country at a bonfire having the best times of our lives than out at a bar in town. I love going to rodeos :)) And I believe that in order to live you have to start living, i'm the type of person to go out and try anything at least once. I am usually always doing something, and that is how I love it. :))
